EMERSON ROAD
We were approached by Sheargold Property Developments to build a stylish and modern multi-unit development positioned on a steep block to take in the sweeping views of the Illawarra Escarpment and surrounds. Steep blocks present numerous challenges, and specific to this project were the following:
- The 25m slope required excavation and removal of 750 tonnes of soil
- Concrete Sleeper retaining walls cast in structural steel were constructed to secure the site
- Complex stormwater and drainage needed extensive work to be undertaken, with a series of small pits and a large 500 litre in ground detention pit
- A sophisticated water diversion system was required to maintain a pleasing aesthetic for landscaping
- The position of the block required road closures and complete traffic management to cater for the cranes needed to deliver building materials
We were very excited to win the Best 5 or More Dwellings Category for our Emerson Road Development.
Each unit was successfully designed to maximise the available space and withstand crosswinds and weather elements. Beautiful and practical open plan living incorporates practical touches such as clever storage and high-quality appliances. All units feature over-sized alfresco areas to take in the stunning views of the valleys and lake, and bricks and Newport cladding make for an aesthetic and sustainable exterior.
